Maps of Schneider's Woods

Schneider's Woods (also known as Schneider's Bush or Schneider's Farm) actually consists of two separate areas, divided by Carmel Koch Road. The main area lies North of that road and West of the Wilmot Line. The other area lies South of Carmel Koch Road.

The area is open to the public from dawn to dusk daily for either walking or cross-country skiing. You may not walk on snow. No pets are allowed (except for those that belong to the property owners). Please respect these rules.

These maps were created using the Region of Waterloo's GIS web site, using the 30 cm. Ortho Imagery overlay. If you are curious, the GIS web site allows zooming to see a greater level of detail than is shown below.

Since Schneider's is rather large, and these maps are rather small, this page is provided more as a way to satisfy your curiosity as to where you might have gone rather than to find your way in the first place.

On Darren Cope's web site, there is also an old trail map superimposed on a topographical map.

If you are not familiar with the area, it is always recommended that you go into the area either in the company of someone who knows the area or on a busy weekend afternoon when there will be people around, of whom you can ask directions!

The place names shown the main map were devised by Ashleigh and Kieffer Kent, children of Julie Kent, a past President of the WRNSC.

The skiable area on each map is outlined with a solid black line. Trail entrance points are marked with a boldface X.
